Italian theatrical director Romeo Castellucci is an inspiration and great influence on the work of our current artist-in-residence Darren Johnston. For twenty years Castellucci has worked in the genre of a Theater of Images. He incorporates elaborate spectacles with machines, dense soundscapes, video, light and narrative fragmentations.

To truly experiment is to explore the unknown, to search for something new, and to risk the unexpected. In this night we screen a selection of rare masterpieces we have seen around.
With a wide range of animation techniques, including paper cutouts, stop-motion, 3D computer animation, and a wide variety of hand-drawn methods, the night will require that you put down everything you have known up to this point and open yourself to the unusual.

Belgium’s one and only Stellar Om Source will take you by the hand into her interdimensional synthesizer lazercave. DJ 92 Points spins the new breed of London’s overground with projections by Aanisa Ru and Black Magick’s xorzyzt will summon the beats from below the floorboards so prepare to levitate!
